The Retro Court

My favoured way of interpreting the 16 people cards of the tarot is to see them as 'aspects of self' first and foremost. However, there are times when they can suggest a more 'abstract' meaning.

The Retro Court was a fun project (for a tarot class in 2000) showcasing these complex and sometimes confusing characters, often perceived as the most difficult of the tarot to 'get to know'.

The captions for the Retro Court were influenced by the 'abstract meanings' given in Jane Lyle's, The Renaissance Tarot (Simon & Schuster)1998.
